Jupiter in Taurus: Abundance That Grows Slowly

Astrokolo Editorial·November 7, 2026·11 min read

An apple tree planted for grandchildren, a savings account quietly gathering interest for years, a kitchen nobody leaves hungry: this is what generosity looks like when Jupiter stands in Taurus. The planet of growth lands in fixed earth, and its optimism turns practical: good is whatever can be tasted, grown by hand and passed on. Abundance here does not fall from the sky; it builds up in layers, like the rings of a tree.

The Bull's season falls in mid-spring, when what was sown has sprouted and needs tending rather than hurry. It is the second sign of the zodiac, fixed earth, and Venus keeps house here. Often called the most patient sign of all, it is set beside its eleven neighbours in our article on the zodiac signs. Jupiter has no domicile, exaltation or weakness in this sign, so for most of the sign classical astrology counts it as peregrine: what it brings depends largely on the sign's ruler. When Venus in Taurus is in the chart too, she is strong in her own domicile, and Jupiter's generosity gains taste and a sense of measure. The exception is the stretch between 14° and 22°: these are Jupiter's terms, and on those degrees the old authors considered it a little more sure of itself.

A faith you can hold in your hands

Jupiter shows what a person believes in and where they grow most easily. In the fire signs that faith burns as inspiration, in the water signs it flows as feeling, and in the Bull it rests on experience. Grand theories do not convince someone with this placement; they need to see the result. But once they believe, the conviction stands as firm as a stone in the foundation of an old farmhouse.

This sign is where the night luminary is exalted, and the Moon in Taurus is considered one of the calmest placements in the zodiac: steady feelings, bodily comfort, gratitude for simple things. Jupiter in the same sign widens that theme. Joy in food, nature, music and touch becomes its source of optimism, and it recharges not in arguments about the meaning of life but in the kitchen, in the garden or on a long walk.

Money that grows like an orchard

Astrology gives this sign the domain of personal resources: income, property and the skills you can lean on in any weather. Jupiter here often brings a gift for money, though not for fast money. Its strategy is to invest and wait: property, land, long-term deposits, a business that collects loyal clients over the years. Luck favours those who do not pull up the seedlings every morning to check whether they are growing.

Careers under this Jupiter usually deal with tangible things: banking, agronomy, restaurants and bakeries, construction, jewellery. The Bull is linked with the throat and neck, so among people with this placement there are many singers and broadcasters. Those who earn most are those whose work also gives them pleasure: in a sign of Venus, Jupiter grows poorly wherever it has to put up with ugliness day after day.

Body, taste and the joy of simple things

This Jupiter trusts the body. A good life is made of the smell of fresh bread, a warm blanket, sun on the skin and an unhurried dinner with people you love. The ability to enjoy small things is a real talent here, and in hard times it holds a person up better than any motivational book.

Yet Jupiter enlarges everything, pleasure included. Hence the pull towards excess: one more slice of cake, one more beautiful thing, one more hour in bed. Fixed earth stagnates easily, and Jupiter happily expands the stagnation, so this placement needs more movement than one would think.

Care you can see in deeds

In relationships Jupiter in Taurus cares in tangible ways: it feeds, gives presents, takes on the household chores and makes a home people want to come back to. Words about feelings come harder to it than care with the hands. It is loyal and patient but dislikes sudden change: a partner who rewrites the plans every month throws it off balance.

It measures values by deeds as well, trusting those who keep their word and do not waste shared money. Money, home life and pleasure are where couples often stumble, so it is worth looking in advance at the synastry overlay of your two charts: it shows how your Jupiter sounds together with your partner's Venus and Moon.

Peers of one Jupiter

Jupiter takes about twelve years to circle the zodiac and spends roughly one of them in this sign, so this is not a generation but a cohort of people born within a year or two. Those born between mid-February and the end of June 2000 have both social planets in the same sign, and on 28 May that year Jupiter and Saturn met exactly at 22°43′ of the Bull. Such meetings happen every twenty years, and this one was the last in a long series in earth signs: the next, in December 2020, took place in Aquarius.

Most children born between June 2011 and the spring of 2012 have Jupiter at a harmonious 120° to Pluto, then in Capricorn: the wish to own something of their own goes together with the patience to build for a long time. And for those born in the spring of 2024, Jupiter sits next to Uranus, so their practical streak is likely to be inventive.

Jupiter in Taurus in the sky: 2023–2024 and 2035–2036

The last transit began on 16 May 2023. Two days later Jupiter stood at a right angle to Pluto, which had only just crossed the threshold of Aquarius; on 4 September it turned back at 15°35′ and on 31 December moved forward again from 5°35′. The main event was the meeting with Uranus on 21 April 2024 at 21°50′. Uranus in Taurus, which began in 2018, was then in its sixth year, shaking everything that had seemed unshakable, from money to consumer habits, and Jupiter gave those changes scale. At the end of May 2024 Jupiter moved on into the sign of the Twins.

Next time it arrives on 29 April 2035 and stays until 9 May 2036, with a retrograde loop from 9 September (20°43′) to 5 January (10°42′). This visit will be tenser. In mid-October 2035 Saturn and Pluto will stand exactly opposite each other, at 17° of Leo and Aquarius, and towards the end of the month Jupiter, on the same degrees of the Bull, will be at right angles to both. Such a configuration in fixed signs usually coincides with a time when savings and old values are tested: they have to be defended or honestly revised.

Which area of your life this visit touches depends on the house that holds this sign in your chart. For people with Aquarius rising, Jupiter most often passes through the fourth house: home, family, renovation. With Capricorn rising it is the fifth, the house of children and creativity; with Leo rising, the tenth, which makes it a year of visible career steps. For those born with Jupiter here, 2035–2036 brings the Jupiter return: the children of 2023–2024 will be about twelve, the class of 2000 about thirty-six.

The shadow: a fullness that stops growth

The trouble with this Jupiter is that it feels good. When everything is in place, there is no wish to grow: work is "fine", the relationship "familiar", dreams postponed until better times. Jupiter in fixed earth can expand not opportunities but the comfort zone, until it becomes a cage with soft walls.

The second trap is measuring the worth of people, yourself included, by money and possessions. The third is stubborn belief: whatever this Jupiter has come to believe, it defends for a long time, even when life has long been showing otherwise, and it treats new ideas like a dubious investment.

Two related placements are worth setting side by side. The second house is the Bull's natural territory, and Jupiter in the 2nd house describes a similar gift for money, but as a circumstance of life: earnings, property, skills. The sign tells how a person handles abundance, the house where it turns up. Whoever has both gets the generous hand twice over, and with it the temptation to buy comfort. At the other end of the axis stands Jupiter in Scorpio: there abundance grows through what is shared — a partner's money, credit, inheritance, risk — rather than through patiently saving your own. The axis asks one question from two sides: what is mine, and what is ours.

How to multiply without excess

Once a year, audit your growth, on your birthday for instance: what in your life has really increased, and what is simply lying there? Whatever has borne no fruit for three years running — a job, a habit, an investment — is worth transplanting or letting go.

Keep pleasure on the move: food, sleep and comfort work for this Jupiter when walks, nature and handwork come with them. And share what is tangible — teach a craft, feed people, pass on what you have built to those just starting out. Jupiter in Taurus is happiest when its abundance becomes soil for someone else.

How it gets on with your Venus, Saturn and Moon depends on the angles between them: soft ones give effortless generosity, tense ones teach you to budget your strength and your money. To tell one kind from the other in your own chart, keep our breakdown of the five main aspects at hand.
